Overview

MCRB Labs builds Focus, a Windows app, and the Focus USB Hub, a piece of hardware controlled by Focus. This policy explains what data each product touches and where it goes.

Focus (the app)

Focus classifies your foreground app and website activity and stores the results locally in a SQLite database on your own machine. Specifically:

• Activity data (which app or site was in the foreground, and when) never leaves your device.
• There is no account system and no server-side storage of your activity.
• Classification rules and settings are stored locally alongside your activity data.

Focus USB Hub

The USB Hub is a concept-stage product. It is designed to communicate with the Focus app over a direct USB connection on the same machine, without any cloud pairing or account requirement. This section will be expanded with full detail once the hardware reaches a testable prototype.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or share your activity data. There's no server for it to sit on in the first place.
• We don't track you across other websites or apps.
• We don't require an account to use Focus.
